Vintage SZ08 Osaka armchair by Martin Visser for 't Spectrum - 1969

This iconic Martin Visser armchair, model SZ08 from the Osaka series, was designed in 1969 for the Dutch pavilion at the World Expo in Tokyo. Produced by 't Spectrum between 1969 and 1974, this chair is among the highlights of Dutch postwar design.

The sleek, low design and elegant chrome tubular frame give the armchair a distinctly modernist character. The seat and back are upholstered in thick, warm brown leather that still has a beautiful, deep shine. Both the leather and chrome are in very good original vintage condition. Some of the padding has been carefully refilled for extra comfort, and some of the support straps have been discreetly replaced.

This SZ08 invites you to relax in style: a rare design where functionality, aesthetics and history come together. A characterful piece of furniture for the true lover of authentic Dutch design.
