Every item in our collection is original mid-century design. When purchasing, we pay attention to materials, proportions and appearance. Sometimes a piece of furniture has signs of use or damage, but we repair these carefully. We preserve what makes it special, without erasing the story.
At Frümel you choose craftsmanship, stories in wood and a personal approach. We pack ourselves, ship worldwide and stay involved until the furniture is well and truly in your space.

Who is Frümel?
Frümel is a small-scale vintage furniture company from the Netherlands, run by Roel. What started as a passion for design grew into a brand where character, quality and love for mid century furniture come together. In the workshop, furniture is restored with care several days a week - with an eye for detail and respect for the original design. Each piece of furniture only goes out the door when it meets our standard for finish, durability and appearance.
Roel grew up in Baarlo, Limburg, where as a child he built furniture and huts in the woods. After acting school, he studied product design at the HKU in Utrecht. Since 2011 he runs his own studio Atelier RB and works on commissions, courses ánd Frümel.
He selects, restores, packs and ships each piece of furniture personally. You can feel that human touch - in the furniture and in the contact. His style is authentic, meticulous and enthusiastic.

How it began - Frümel since 2015
In 2014, the first idea for Frümel was born: a place where old design gets a new stage. Roel, with a background in product design and a childhood full of creative building projects, officially founded Frümel in 2015, together with associate Sanne. The name "Frümel" - playful, quirky and Limburgish in sound - grew along with the brand's style and philosophy. The first collection consisted of carefully selected finds, often with signs of use that served as a starting point for restoration with attention.
Since 2020, Frümel has continued solo, with the same love of craft, original design and an eye for quality and detail. Each piece of furniture tells a story - from design to revaluation - and we continue that story with dedication.

What do we want to radiate?
By giving mid-century designer furniture new life in a fresh, contemporary setting, we contribute to a more sustainable interior. We handle materials with care, appreciate the original design and preserve the soul of the furniture. This not only preserves the object, but also its story - befitting a home with character.
Good furniture lasts for generations - not through time, but through character. Thus, the essence of the design remains visible, even in a new story.
